Student Leaving Arrangements
The majority of our student tenancies are due to end in the coming weeks. Please be advised that any rubbish left on the street beside your bins can result in significant fines from the council. If you have access to a car, Sheffield has a number of household waste centres.
At checkout inspections, the main charges against deposits last year were due to cleaning and rubbish removal so please make sure you clean thoroughly and don’t leave it until the last minute. If any rubbish is left in the property we will need to remove this and charge accordingly.
At the end of student tenancies, we often see rubbish on the streets, which is not only unhygienic and attracts vermin to the area, but also spoils the reputation of Sheffield students.
Please ensure that in the lead up to you vacating the property, that rubbish is recycled appropriately and that general waste is disposed of in plenty of time as often it will not fit into one black bin.
- Make sure all rubbish is correctly recycled, including food waste, and importantly that all household waste is put in the correct waste bin.
- If you see litter on your street, please pick it up & put it in a bin. If you can’t find a bin, take it home with you and pop it in your bin.
- Make sure that all of your bins are numbered correctly with your house number clearly on the front.
- Once bin collection day is over, please make sure that you return your bins to the rear yard or confines of your property.
If you have any questions, please don't hestitate to get in touch and we'll try our best to help you out!
