Key Collection Procedures - note changes in line with Covid-19 Government Guidance

29/06/2020

The majority of our managed tenancies start from 1pm onwards on your contract start date (please check your tenancy agreement for exact date and time).

We therefore wish to confirm key collection procedures subject to cleared first rent payments, guarantor forms and standing order confirmations being received from everyone in your group having been received by us in time.

Due to Covid-19 and certain restrictions set by the government in order to minimise the spread of the virus, we have put in place a strict procedure for key collection. If you are moving into a property managed by Dove Properties you will need to follow the below procedure.

If you are in a property which we do not manage you must contact your landlord to make your moving in arrangements with them, and they will be the person you must collect your keys from rather than us (we do not hold any keys for properties we don’t manage).

Please check page 2 of your tenancy agreement which confirms contact details of who you need to contact to arrange this.

    • All tenants must decide upon one designated housemate to collect all the keys from our office any day and time (in office hours) after the start date and time of the tenancy and during office hours.

    • We have been advised that the vast majority of tenants intend to collect their keys right at the start of the agreement, we now advise that you check the start date & time on your contract (and details of who to collect them from), and ensure that only one person from your group arrives to collect all keys.

    • Please note that the start date of the contract between 12 and 1:30pm is likely to be incredibly busy at the office and so we would advise that wherever possible people arrive between 1:30 and 4:30pm or another date.

    • Your nominated person will need to bring photo ID with them and we will need to see that all rents have been paid and all guarantors received for the property, before we are able to make the key handover.

    • We understand that many students will not be back in Sheffield until August/September and so if you are as yet unsure of a move in date, but know that it will not be at the start of your tenancy please do let us know an approximate week of arrival over the summer of the first person to move in, so that we can plan movements to the property with regard to our COVID-19 precautions

    • Please ensure that all tenants in the group regularly and routinely monitor government guidelines with regard to COVID-19 precautions. updates can be found at https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
